Road Trip USA – Day 8 – From Las Vegas to Bakersfield

Rise and shine! ☀️

We wake up in the luxurious hotel: “The Venetian”.

We want to get early to the swimming pool because temperatures are rising up to 35 degrees today! Who would want to miss this? We find a perfect place at the pool and enjoy a nice breakfast.

Eleven o’clock? Apero-time for us! Bring on the Pina Colada and Gin & Tonic!

All beautiful songs come to an end, and around 13h we leave to our next location, Bakersfield.

Before we leave we make a stop at the famous Las Vegas sign.

A trip of more than 500 km to go towards Bakersfield.

Because of a closed Yosemite we immediately go for the long drive along the highway.

But with the two of us we have all the entertainment we need. One stupid joke after another, combined with karaoke, dances in the car and brilliant imitations. Time flies when your having fun, even when you’re for hours in the car.

We pass a few towns where we make a stop.
We see Barstow, a route 66 village and we pass at Peggy Sue’s.

Bakersfield is in sight, we load our stuff out, do some laundry and get some groceries to cozy up to our room to hold a microwave evening. Actually the first time we do something like that.

Cosy and typical American, ready-made meals to eat before the TV!
